There’s 2 different types. There’s hydraulic-driven and then there’s the helical pier. The difference is that in the hydraulic-driven, we use the weight of the house to actually push the pipe into the ground. With a helical pier, it’s drilled in so we’re not using the weight of the structure to put it in the ground. Therefore, the helical puts less strain on the structure if it’s a light-loaded building and has no weight to it.
